The Elusive Miss Ellison

It was my first time reading a book by this author and if this is the kind of content she'll keep producing then she can take my money! Hahaha 🏆👏🏾👏🏾

Listened to this on Audible. The narration was so good it felt like several different people were doing the voices for the different characters. Great job miss Anna Parker-Naples. Though I would advice to listen at 1.05 speed. It seemed oddly slow at the normal level but delightful at 1.05.

Now this was a long book and boy am I glad it was!! I like to get to know people in my books and let me tell you the characters were so intricately fleshed out! Nicholas' confidence and growing warmth as the story progressed  particularly stood out to me and made me love his heart. On top of that he had such a way with words and was hilarious. Laughed out loud so many times listening to him. The choice of words in this book is just chef's kiss!! So smart and full of witty loveliness. We love us some witty characters.

The story telling was so entrancing. Truly felt like I was in rooms with these people. Didn't even want to multi task as I listened to it. Just wanted to quietly join these colorful people as they went along and not stir an inch as the story progressed. And the period appropriate English? Top 2 compared with all the many present day authored Regency period books I have read so far. It added so much wonderful flavor to an already rich story. Not sure how I am going to read other authors' books now that I have read this kind of Regency writing truth be told. The bar has officially been set quite high.

A clean read as well. Love love love that. It is always a deal breaker for me regardless of how great the writing is. If its not clean its not for me.

This was a really impactful book. Not just entertaining but heart changing because of how it inspires you to be kind and forgiving. Augh I did not want to say goodbye to Nicholas and Lavinia. Watching them change into better people and fall in love so deeply and beautifully really left a deep impression with me. I really really enjoyed their journey.
