Owning a pet has been found to boost wellness levels exponentially, so it makes sense that anyone would seriously consider raising a pet.

Personally, wellness motivated reasons aside, I've been thinking of getting a pet for quite some time. More specifically a cat.

When we were kids we couldn't have pets because my mum has a great dislike for pets, but we used to have this stray cat who would visit out backyard all the time and I just simply adored it. My mum however was not having it so there was no way we were adopting Nancy as another member of our family (I'm so sorry Nancy T_T)

Because Nancy melted my heart then, it was always in the back of my mind that when I moved to my own place, I would get me a nice little kitty!

But after watching this reality tv show called "My Cat From Hell".....I'm having second third fourth and fifth thoughts. It's that bad.

I don't know if any of you have watched it. But if you have, you probably understand my hesitation.

But just in case you haven't, let me give you a brief description.

The show is just as the name describes. These cats are WILD!! So wild that the cat parents are at their end. And I absolutely understand them. From being constantly attacked by the little feline friends, to being hissed at, to the kitties going around the house marking territory on walls, beds and couches, and to even almost killing the other pets in the home and possibly the parents themselves!... I tell you, the name is fitting.

Now there's a cat "whisperer" called Jackson who comes on the show and trains the little kitties to be able to happily co-exist with their human parents. And I must admit, he is amazing! So it's always a happy ending. Thankfully.

Unfortunately for me, my cat-parenting dreams have been greatly affected after watching the show and might not end in a "happy ending".

I am however a little hopeful but I need to ask some advice from you guys before making a final decision.

So cat parents, help a sista out. Tell me if you are living harmoniously with your feline friends or are there cat parents out there who have had unpleasant experiences. Please share share share. My cat parenting dreams are relying on you..

💚 Cathy.
