4 Easy Ways to Protect Your Peace

Avoid toxic company --- they say "show me your friends, and I'll show you who you are". When your company is toxic, chances are darling that you might have caught it too. And that toxicity is hard to carry. It's like walking around with a ton of bricks around your neck. Chances are in this group there is always a conflict of some sort more often than not. And in a space like that, there is no way you are at peace my dear.

Don't watch/read/listen to negative content - What you consume affects your life in more ways than you can imagine. How so? When you give your mind access to negative content over and over again, you find yourself beginning to think like the things you are consuming. Say you watch a reality tv show where women keep demeaning and betraying each other. It may seem entertaining and okay to watch, but before you know it, you may find yourself doing the very same thing to the people that are in your life. What regularly goes into your mind, more often than not comes out my love. So if it is negative, your outlook on life and even how you act could very easily begin to be the same. And a negative mind is a mind not at peace. That is why I steer clear of negative television like it is the plague.

Don't get into online wars -- be it a tweef (twitter thread beef war) or the comments section on Instagram, we all know that sometimes the online space can be more toxic than nuclear waste. It gets ugly. I also know we all have opinions and ways of thinking that differ from one another. But my love, you cannot let a difference of opinion fill you with radioactive nuclear feels. Stay, stay away from the onset. If someone leaves you a horrible comment simply block/report and walk away. You don't have to get them back. Leave before it even starts and save yourself the peace stealing trouble.

And on that online note, curate your Instagram feed along the same lines. Nowadays we have the option of making our Instagram feeds into exactly what we want to see every time we log on. How lovely! Finally! So the power is in your hands darling...literally. So choose the kind of accounts to follow and favorite on your timeline that breathe good positive content onto your feed. I have personally done this and I found that, instead of feeling tired and overwhelmed every time I was on the app, it turns into such a lovely sweet experience that makes me feel relaxed, jovial and calm, like I had just spent some time doing selfcare! It's life changing my love. You have to try it.

Wishing lots of peaceful days ahead,

Cat.
