Alone time is just as important as bonding time with loved ones. Both recharge us in different ways that every human being was designed by God to need.

Here's how to carve out some time.

Wake up earlier or stay up later - Choose the one that works best for you. For me personally I stay up late. I love this because it means that you will possibly be alone at a time when not just your house, but the whole world will be quiet and just yours. This is perfect because quiet not only gives you time for you but also inspires wellness of mind.

Strictly carve out time in your calendar like you do for work or family obligations and keep that appointment. Treat it with the same weight of importance you would any other life or work obligation. After all you can't give your best to these other important parts of life if you yourself are not doing well.

Go away at least once a month - staycations are golden here. Add this bit to your calendar <3

Choose a hobby that you can only do alone - it may sound extra but it's important to have something that's just yours to do that no one else would be jumping at the gun to do with you. For me it's watching foreign shows with subtitles hahaha It's hard to get my people into it (I've tried lol) so this is just something that I get to do by myself. And I'm so so glad I have it. It gives me an opportunity to shut off everything and sit back and unwind in my own little space for a bit.

Treat everyone to a night out and have at least a few hours to yourself. Send them to the movies, or to dinner etc. and use that time just for you.

Please remember your mental health is extremely important. So do make that time for you. Not only do you deserve it but you also need it.

Always for you,

Catherine.
