5 Simple Inexpensive Ways to Find Pockets of Healing Quiet

Healing quiet is not necessarily quiet as we understand the word. In this instance it means calm, peace.

This healing quiet I speak of is known to lift the spirit, boost energy and relieve anxious thoughts. And I thought you might like some of that.

Here's 5 ways to find healing quiet.


Positive guided meditation apps - I've used a Christian meditation app called Abide and it is just perfect for a weary, stressed, anxious heart. Don't let the "Christian" scare you. This app is all about soothing your weary heart and uses Bible based principles to guide you to a place of rest and peace. They also incorporate relaxed breathing exercises that are calming and grounding in the most gentle of ways. Relaxing Pomodoro clocks when working, studying etc - I have used Tide and it was life changing. It applies the Pomodoro method which is a system where you do your work in blocks of time--usually about 25 to 30 minutes without stopping or allowing any distractions. When the 25 minute timer runs out, you stop the task and allow yourself time to rest. What I like about this is the discipline it instills in you. And what I like even more about Tide--other than the fact that it is free to download, is that it incorporates relaxing sounds into the Pomodoro timer. Imagine yourself listening to the sounds of a calming brook flowing through a bed of rocks, or the cozy sounds of rain pouring even on a clear dry day, maybe the sound of the wind in a forest as it brushes through the trees, or the sweet chirping of birds in the midst of beautiful morning sounds. Listening to Lofi music - lofi music is music that is made in a manner that invokes calm and nostalgia in a quiet and understated way and is meant to help the mind relax. Time seems to stop when you put on your headphones and play a lofi playlist. Your mind forgets to over think, your worries gently float away, your heart seamlessly and effortlessly floats on the understated rhythmic flows of the music. So easy to find and so lovely to listen to. Here's a lofi Spotify playlist I enjoy.


Taking a stroll, going to the rooftop of your apartment/office or standing on the balcony in the quiet hours of the day - something beautiful arises within you when you step into beautiful quiet spaces. Your being takes in the calm and rewards you with peace. So be it at sunrise, sunset, in the middle of the day or even the wee hours of the night, whatever time it is quiet wherever you are (so long as it is safe), throw on something comfortable, step out into that revitalizing quiet, and find peace.
