How to help yourself when you have no one to lean on

Being all alone when struggling is such a painful thing. You look all around and all you see are the horrible circumstances that threaten to consume you.
It's terrible.
So what do you do when things are like this?
Let's look at a practical real life example
David in the Bible is famously known for slaying Goliath the giant with just a sling shot and a rock when he was just a young man. But what I remember David for today was how he used to encourage himself when things were overwhelming and horrible.
He would be surrounded by enemies, the king of the land determined to kill him and the future looking all kinds of bleak.
But then he would do something really amazing and really helpful for you who is reading this right now.
He would first acknowledge that "yeah, the situation is absolutely horrible and it is destroying me on the inside, but you know what, better days will come! God will get me out of this! I am His and He doesn't abandon His own! He is faithful to those who love and trust Him! God I choose to trust you!" And just like that he got the strength needed to keep on going!
Moral of the story my darling? He let himself have hope! He gave himself permission to not quit under the weight of his painful circumstances!
Life can be hard, painfully hard. But thankfully for us, more often than not, it's not the king of the land chasing us down to kill us while we are tired and afraid in the wilderness hard!
So if the guy who had such horribly terrifying circumstances was able to encourage himself and keep on moving forward, we too can decide to not let the circumstances get us down.
We too can tell ourselves
you know what, it's gonna be okay me,
it may look bad now, but tomorrow will be better. Things will look up for me".
The God of David is the same God today. And He is on your side too! He got Him out of that trouble and made Him the greatest king Israel has ever seen. So clearly you're in perfect hands! You're gonna be okay!!
So when you find yourself in the thick of things and don't have someone around you to encourage you, please hold on to the good news that you still have you!
So call that meeting with yourself and do for you what King David did for him. You have the same fighting spirit within you! I promise.

Always cheering for your happiness,
