5 ways to get back and keep that spring in your step

A spring-in-your-step is that happy positive feeling you have when your world is right. The world however is not always where you want it to be. So sometimes you need to put in a little extra effort to protect that happy positive feeling for better quality of life. Here are some ways how;
Find a hobby you love and do it throughout the week - when you find something you enjoy doing, you always look forward to the joy it brings you! When you start your day and remember "oh, later I get to do that", the rest of your day gets brighter which leads to a positive mindset and as a result turns into a happier spring-in-your-step day! For me personally I look forward to watching my kdramas-that drop new episodes during the week, while I enjoy good food. When I think of that "tasty dinner and a drama" later in my day, my heart just smiles. I feel like I'll be giving myself a nice little reward after working hard during the day. This way I get re-energized and smile through the tasks of the day excited about the treat at the end. It's in the thought of the reward darling * wink *
Help others - you know that saying "give and it will come back to you" …it's the real deal my love! When you give your time or a part of your resources purely for the benefit of others something happens inside of you. That feeling of making a difference is a gift that gives back to the giver. And it's a feeling that you cannot experience any other time other than when you give a helping hand to someone in need. Someone in need can be a friend who is going through something, an organization that works to help the needy or doing your part for a cleaner environment. Regularly giving to others will make you feel like a good person. This in turn will boost your self-esteem and in turn make you a happy cookie. A cheerful giver is just that...cheerful!
Get yourself some essential oils and rub them on your collar - Find yourself the perfect calming combination of essential oils that just put your mind in a tranquil place and rub them on your collar. I have been using "Flower Burst" roller by Wild Earth Botanics - a small business on Instagram, and the mixture of baobab oil, clary, sage, neroli and lavender on my collar throughout the day has been game changing for me. It just puts me in a lovely mood which in turn makes me approach all things with a peaceful mind. It's hard to get stressed when your mind is constantly being gently wafted with pleasant fragrances. If by chance you are not fragrance-on-you-collar inclined, you can get yourself a candle made with your favorite blend of calming essential oils and burn that in your office or home. It will absolutely shift things for you.
Get enough comfortable sleep - go out of your way to invest in bedding and an environment that ensures you get ample comfortable sleep. The better you sleep, the better energy and attitude you have throughout the day and as a result the better day you have. A tired person has a higher chance of being cranky and prickly throughout the day which will lead to misunderstandings and overwhelm - two things we absolutely do not want in our day. Absolute spring-in-your-step stealers. Avoiding these starts with good rest.
Avoid dwelling on what went wrong - It's always good to look back on things and analyze what could have been done better. That is absolutely healthy and very much encouraged. However, don't keep looking back. Pick out the main points and leave the retrospect where it belongs...behind. If you keep continually nitpicking at how it all went wrong, then sure enough stress and anxiety will be waiting for you. Let us learn from the past and move on with the lessons learnt. Not dwell.
